PITTSBURGH -- Bake Mcbride doubled home 3 runs in a 4-run Philly explosion in the 6th to carry Philadelphia to a 4-3 win. Steve Carlton (11-5) was the WP with Ron Reed (11) getting the save. Rick Rhoden took the loss for the Pirates. Omar Moreno had 3 hits in a losing cause.
September 12, 1981
PITTSBURGH -- Dickie Noles (3-0) tossed 7 shut out innings and McBride again contributed 2 doubles and 2 RBI to lead Philly to a 4-0 victory.
September 13, 1981
PITTSBURGH -- Bill Madlock banged out 3 hits and 3 RBI to lead Pittsburgh to a 7-4 winner. Moreno again added 3 safeties. Odell Jones (3-0) started and won for the home club.
