Brewers Lead AL East with 3 of 4 Wins over Baltimore
Going into a four game home stretch against the Baltimore Orioles the Milwaukee Brewers faced some bleak odds. An 11-11 record at home seemed a
bit odd for the AL East leading Brewers but manager Harvey Kuenn still had an optimistic mind set that his team would make County Stadium a friendly confine yet. And his team responded, taking 3 of 4 from their division rivals. The Brewers outscored the Orioles 20-12 in the 4 game stint and increased their league leading batting average to .304 on the season. The 3 wins improve Milwaukee to 34-21 on the season and continue to lead the AL East Division. The losses drop Baltimore to 29-26 on the season. Kuenn was asked by a reporter what he did to turn around his team at home, he responded, "All I do is write their names on the lineup card and let them play. It’s not a tough job. I haven’t misspelled one name yet." Guess that sums it up.
