A Royal flush; KC Sweeps ChiSox

May 24, 1982
CHICAGO -- George Brett (5) banged out 3 hits and drove in 3 with a 3rd inning blast to power Kansas City to a 7-3 win at Comiskey. Paul Splittorff (5-1) was stellar on the mound with a 3-hitter in 6 IP. Cesar Geronimo (2) and Hal McRae (10) also went yard off LP LaMarr Hoyt (3-3). Bill Almon (2) accounted for all of the Sox runs with a sac fly and 2-run homer.

May 25, 1982
CHICAGO -- Keith Creel (1-0) and Mike Armstrong (2) combined on a 3-hit shutout in an 8-0 KC whitewashing. Geronimo (3) continued his heavy swinging with another homer and 3 RBI. Creel and Richard Dotson (3-4) were in a pretty good pitching duel until the royals erupted for 5 in the 7th.

May 26, 1982
CHICAGO -- Larry Gura (5-6) had the honors this time of hand-cuffing the Sox batters. He slow-curved his way through 8.1 IP, yielding just 4 hits in a 5-2 Royals victory. KC gets the sweep with Willie Wilson leading the offense with 2 knocks. Chicago did not score until the 9th, having been blanked for 19 consecutive innings.
