May 7, 1980 (G1):  Sam Mejias took advantage of a rare start and drove in the game winning run in the ninth as the Reds took the first of two 2-1.  It was Mejias second hit of the game and he also scored a run.   Paul Moskau (1-2) threw two scoreless innings of relief to pick up the win.  Tekulve (2-1) was the losing pitcher.

May 7, 1980 (G2):  Trailing 3-2 going into the bottom of the ninth, Knight and Nolan open up the inning with back-to-back singles and advancing a base on a Easler error.  Oester reached on a fielder choice as Knight scored on a 20% chance.  Biittner drew a walk and Collins drew a walk off walk scoring Nolan with the game winning run.  The Pirates wasted a 2 run homer by Madlock.  The red hot Knight went 4 for 4 to raise his average to .361 on the young season.  Hume (2-1) picked up the win while Romo (1-2) suffered the setback.
