April 17th, 1981 Riverfront Stadium: Tony Scott led off the top of the seventh with a solo home run as the Cardinals edge the Reds 3-2. Darrell Porter gave the Redbirds a 2-0 lead in the first with a two run shot off Reds starter Mike LaCoss. Cincinnati scored single runs in the fourth and the sixth to tie it. W: Sorensen (2-0) L: Moskau (0-1).
April 18th, 1981 Riverfront Stadium: George Hendrick's three run homer in the top of the first off of Tom Seaver gives visiting St. Louis a 3-0 lead. Reds answer with four in the bottom of the inning for a 4-3 lead. Cincinnati adds a run in the second and a run in the seventh as Seaver settles in to pitch eight strong innings for the 6-3 win. Ray Knight went 2 for 3 with a double and a triple and 2 RBI to lead the Reds offense. W: Seaver (2-1) L: Shirley (0-1) S: Hume (3).
