A's sweep Jays

Game 1 (5/10/80)
Oakland: 7  Toronto: 3
WP - Langford (2-3)  LP - Clancy (2-2)
HR - TOR: Whitt (4), OAK: Revering (6)

Dave Revering knocked in 4 runs with a 3-hit day that included his 6th homer of the year.
Jeff Newman had the other 3 RBI for the A's, and Rick Langford pitched a complete game for his second win.  Jim Clancy took the loss but pitched a complete game and struck out 7 A's, while his battery mate Ernie Whitt hit his 4th for the Blue Jays.  Otto Velez also had a nice game, going 4 for 4.

Game 2 (5/11/80)
Oakland: 3  Toronto: 2
WP - Norris (4-1)  LP - Buskey (1-2)
HR - TOR: Velez (4), OAK: none

Mike Norris pitched another strong game,
but he needed a 9th inning rally by his
teammates to get him his 4th win of the
year.  Norris was leading 2-1 in the top
of the 8th when pinch hitter Otto Velez
crushed a fastball into the left field seats
to tie the game 2-2.  The game stayed that
way until the bottom of the 9th, when
Dave Revering, Blue Jay killer, singled
home Dwayne Murphy to give Oakland
the victory and series sweep.
