KCR 2 6 0
BOS 1 5 1
WP - Saberhagen (1-1) Sv - Farr (1)
LP - Clemens (1-1)

Sabs and Clemens hook up in a classic pitcher's duel in Game 5. KC got to the Rocket first, on a Brett sac fly in the 3rd. But Evans evened it up in the bottom half, taking an 0-2 pitch into the net in left to tie it up. KC regained the lead in the 6th on a run scoring fielder's choice by Stillwell. And that was all of the scoring in this one.
Saberhagen pitched 8 solid innings, allowing the one run on the Evans HR, while allowing 5 hits and 4 walks, along with 9 K's to get the win. Clemens pitched into the 8th before tiring. While Evans and Burks led the Boston offense, each with 2 HR and 7 RBI, the MVP for this series are the Boston pitchers. They held a potent KC lineup to this slash line - .216/.278/.268/.546.
Great season for John's Royals. While we did not get to play H2H it was fun communicating with him as we passed the files back and forth.
