Farmer (14) held the Orioles to 1 run on 5 hits as the White Sox defeated
Baltimore 3-1. DH Ron Pruitt knocked
in 2 runs without benefit of a hit. Wayne
Nordhagen had 3 knocks for the Pale Hose.
July 11, 1980 at
Chicago – Lenn Sakata greeted Sox reliever Mike Proly with an RBI double in the T8 to tie the game at 2-2. Proly then uncorked a wild pitch
scoring Mark Corey with what turned
out to be the winning run as Baltimore won 3-2 and split the short 2-game
series. Sammy Stewart (4-4) and Tim Stoddard (11) were the pitchers of
record on the plus side; Guy Hoffman (0-3)
on the negative.
